In supporting sustainable development and sustainable investments our work in both the public and private sector arenas cuts across all areas of our business. We provide research, strategic planning, project management and coordination of projects. We partner with sector specialist organisations including research institutions, government departments, consultancies, business associations, regulatory and standards bodies and NGOs. Our areas of expertise include.

Through our Trade & Economy in economics and trade, energy and the environment and in investment promotion strategies, we have established strong relations with government ministries both within the EU and internationally. In addition, we work with central and regional governments in emerging economies by supporting dialogue and cooperation on European and international standards for trade and regulatory compliance.

Energy and Environment projects are central to our work and involve the design and management of projects in both the public and private arena. We support the commercial application of technologies and services for energy, efficiency and renewable energy for example those applied under the Kyoto protocol’s CDM. We support the commercial application of environmental and water resource management technologies, environmental strategies and carry out environmental due diligence.

Business facilitation work supports the manufacture of sustainable technologies and supports the efficient development of global supply chains particularly through manufacturing within China, SE Asia and South Asia.

Human Capacities These projects include for example the training of local entrepreneurs to formulate business plans, obtain small loans and better position their products within the market and also ensure community involvement in supporting sustainable development initiatives.
