The protection of famous or well-known marks continues to receive much attention, particularly from Western countries whose industries rely on their protection to ensure competitiveness. The internationalization of trade and commerce requires consideration of how famous and well-known marks are protected in jurisdictions around the world.

This project involved a seminar on the special requirements for the Protection of Well-known Trademarks in Asia. The seminar brought together the government bodies involved in Trademark protection from 10 Asian countries. Experts from European member states and EC DG Trade officials also attended.

DS managed the main local aspects of seminar planning, including the identification, contact and invitation of seminar attendees. Furthermore, DS supported with technical development of the seminar topics, press development and support in venue. preparation.

The Project was implemented in partnership with ERIN SA who are based in Luxemburg.
