DEVELOPMENT Solutions (DS) is a European consultancy working internationally in the field of sustainable investments and sustainable development. Our expertise in regulatory development and business solutions is applied primarily in emerging markets across Asia in the areas of international trade and economy; environmental conservation and energy efficiency; human capacities; and business facilitation and SME support. This expertise is built on our strong grounding in project design and management; analysis; research; and business, public and government relations.
DS’ Human Capacities Division is currently implementing a series of high‐profile European publicly funded technical assistance projects, including a training series for officials in countries trading with the EU under the European Commission “Better Training for Safer Food” training initiative.
Based in our Beijing office, the experienced and highly motivated Project Manager will be responsible for designing, managing and implementing capacity building projects, liaising with stakeholders, and reporting to donors. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are a necessity given the need for daily cooperation and dialogue with international organisations/ agencies, government institutions, and research organisations. In addition, the Project Manager will assist the DS management team in researching, identifying and developing new business opportunities.
Prospective candidates require:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in the area of international development
- University degree in international development or trade preferable
- High quality oral and written communication abilities with strong client servicing skills
- Team player with strong coordination and organisational skills
- Ability to work with limited direction and to meet tight deadlines
- Reliability, initiative, thoroughness and attention to detail
- Highly motivated, hard working and ambitious
- Good research and drafting skills
- English fluency; additional language skills an asset
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience in China/SE Asia an asset
- Willingness to travel internationally
