DEVELOPMENT Solutions (DS) is a European consultancy working internationally in the field of sustainable investments and sustainable development. Our expertise, applied mainly in emerging markets across Asia, steers public policy and private sector decision‐making by advising on regulatory development and business solutions. The work of our Trade & Economy Division is built on our strong grounding in policy analysis, which incorporates legal, economic and statistical analysis, regulatory expertise, expertise in international development trends, market research, socio‐economic research, and public and private sector consultation.

The DS Trade & Economy Division is currently implementing a series of high‐profile European publicly funded support services in China, including a European Commission (EC)‐funded Study on Accounting Practices in the PRC. The study is a crucial step in assessing China’s compliance with the EC’s market economy status (MES) criteria. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to join our team for this project.

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing project implementation and coordination with a study team of accountants and other experts in reviewing accounting practices of select companies, auditing practices of select auditors, and the continuity of Chinese accounting standards with international standards. Herein, the Project Manager will also be required to follow and establish solid SOPs, conduct gap analysis, ensure quality of all deliverables for the study, and ensure the team meets all deadlines.

Prospective candidates require:

  • 3‐5 years management experience in accounting and business
    • At least part of this work experience required to be in China
    • Superior organisation with strong client servicing skills gained from work experience
  • Graduate degree in Accounting, Business or Economics
  • Strong knowledge of international trade concepts
  • Excellent report writing and editing skills
  • Outstanding research and analytical skills
  • English fluency required; intermediate or higher Mandarin strongly preferred
